My name is Nova. I’m a 4month old German Shepherd mix, and I weigh over 20lbs now, so I should be nice size adult. I love people and will jump right up on your lap and give you puppy kisses. Before I came to PAWS I was a stray and didn’t have very much food or water. Sometimes I still get a little scared that someone will take my food, so I will require some patience and understanding when it comes to my resource guarding. My foster mom says I’m already much better about guarding my food and with some training treats it won’t be long until I’m not so protective. I’m a typical puppy and love to play with both people and dogs but sometimes I play too rough especially with smaller dogs. My foster mom has worked with basket muzzle training me so I can play safely.
I would love to be part of a family who will take the time to help me work on my resource guarding and help me learn some manners. I’m mostly house broken, but still a puppy and an accident or two might be expected. I’ve also done fairly well with crate training. It can take me a few minutes to calm down, but then I settle down well.
