Hello! My name is Yeti and I have been waiting a long time to find my furever family. I am a senior gentleman, about 8 years old. I am a Great Pyrenees and really do have all the best breed traits. I am very sweet, affectionate, laid back, and a gentle giant (I am about 100lbs)! I most love to hangout with my foster family because they gave me a lot of attention; I especially love when they give me my weekly brushing, which will be a requirement for my new family to help me avoid mats in my coat!
I am a special needs dog and will require a special family to love me through my golden years. I am blind, so I need some help getting around in new environments. I am still very mentally sharp, so I can figure out how to get around on my own pretty quickly! I would love a fenced in backyard, but it’s not a requirement.
I also am recovering from heartworm treatment, but PAWS has taken care of all of my medical needs and I will be a healthy boy when I find the right family to adopt me!
I absolutely LOVE walks. I get a real pep in my step when I hear the jingle of the leash! I can go for about hour-long walks before I get too tired, but I am the happiest boy when my foster family takes me out. I am also a perfect patio dog! I like to hang out at the brewery or restaurant and really love all of the attention I get when we go out. I love car rides, too!
I get along well with my canine foster siblings. We don’t interact too much, as I prefer human attention, but I have no problem with other dogs that can respect my space and understand my special needs. Since I can’t see, I don’t think living with cats would be a big deal either! I did meet a kitty once and was interested in it when I heard it meow, but that’s the extent of my cat testing.
I have met kids and also enjoy them very much! Any kids in my new family will also need to understand and be respectful of my special needs, but I really love all of the attention kids give me. I am the happiest when getting pets on my head and belly! I am not too energetic, so don’t let my size deter you if you have kids in your family. My foster family has never seen me jump on anyone or knock anybody down, since I am so gentle.
