Pinky

Hello, my name is Pinky and I am looking for a furever home that has a lot of love to give me and won’t mind a 42 pound lap dog with a tail that does not stop wagging!

I was owner surrendered to the Muskingum County Dog Shelter in Zanesville, but don’t worry, I did nothing wrong!  My family was moving to an apartment and could not take me with them.  It was a hard adjustment since I had been with them all my 5 years.  Thankfully, PAWS came to the rescue.

They say that I am a Beagle/Pit mix.  I am white and brindle colored.  I came to the shelter already spayed and I know to go to the door when I want to go outside to potty – I believe they call that being potty trained.   I have not met a person I don’t like and that is evidenced by the never-ending wag of my tail.  Sometimes you have to watch that wagging tail!  I love to play and chew on furry dog toys that squeak.  I have a favorite pink pig that I like to carry throughout the house.  I live with a step fur sister and a step fur brother (one is bigger than me and one is smaller than me) and we all get along.  I will get along with any dog as long as a proper introduction is made.  I even like the little humans, their laps are also perfect to lay in – it doesn’t matter the size, just so I am close to my humans.   I do like to sleep in bed with my humans too, usually on the end of the bed, but I will also sleep in a dog bed if told to.

The vet that I saw when I came to PAWS thinks that I may have some skin allergies.  I am currently on some medicine and a special shampoo to help with that.  There are some areas on my body that do not have as much hair on them as they should.  We are trying to figure out what the cause is, but it does not bother me – even in this freezing weather we are having – I love to go outside and run and jump through the snow.   I also have what they call a “cherry eye” or in medical terms, a third eyelid gland prolapse.  It is not as bad as it sounds, it doesn’t bother me at all, and it doesn’t affect my eyesight.  This is something that we are trying to determine how to treat.

Other than that, I am one happy pup, love to give kisses and would really like to find a home to call my own.  I would love to meet you!
